What that enhanced experience is remains to be seen. Maybe 1GB of ram and something else that will make some iPhone 4 users jealous, especially when their iPhone 4 turns into an iPhone 3G someday.

I think that Apple was probably aiming to make Pages into a desktop publishing program but then found halfway through that most of the features added in were pretty similar to what word has. Maybe that's why Jobs decided to put it head to head with Word?
Pages is a resurrected application from more than 10 years ago. It's feature set and implementation are pretty much the same, just as the reaction of both the media and users.
Pages was never designed to be a page layout replacement. It is designed to be a step above the standard word processor layout aimed squarely at people who know nothing about page layout. This has been (in it's original form) and currently is a template driven application.
What is so amazing is that people are reacting the same way now as they did before. Always thinking that it'll become more than it currently is. This application has had more than 10 years to be rethought out and improved. If it was aiming for page layout, there was plenty of time to move it in that direction.
Pages is to page layout what painting by numbers is to art. Anyone expecting the freedom that a page layout program offers has missed what this is about. It isn't about freedom, it is about empowering people with little or no experience to produce quality documents.

I just got off the phone with sale rep, and all they have is 32gb and 64gb left. When asked about the price, she said $500 for 32gb (??). I mentioned the article and she still said $500. Weird? Is there an official link to this somewhere on the verizon site, as all I can see is it bundled with mifi @ 429.99 (16gb).
My store knew about the price drop and they had the price tag on the display updated. At the bottom of the price sheet that shows the iPad2 and iPad1 prices, it showed 299/399/499 for the different models. My guess is if you buy it in store, it should ring up at the lower price.

I've driven through Valle Crucis (http://www.vallecrucis.com/) a couple times, but never stayed. It's a gorgeous, isolated N.C. mountain town. May be farther than you're willing to drive, though--I'd guess about 8 hours from Maryland.

In my opinion, I don't think the "iPhone" will have more than 1GB just so that it wouldn't affect the sales of the lower capacity Nanos (the shuffle is an exception because its tiny and has a relatively lower concept).
A good selling point would have to be how fast you can put on your music. My sister's Treo is painfully slow at that.

There's already a thread on this. Just as I did in that one, I think it's incredibly sad. The irony in what the RATM croud are trying to achieve is particularly amusing.
Not half as sad as the machine of mediocrity that is Simon Bloody Cowell's monopoly on our christmas number ones.
So the frig what if a bunch of people want to feel like they've accomplished a small victory by bumping that rubbish off the top spot? It's harmless fun.

It really isn't fair to compare the MBA to a netbook as all they have in common is size. And Widnows is worth its value to over a billion users too.
The other thing to consider is usage. Many people who use a small laptop like the MBA or those listed are not looking for a powerhouse of a computer. Just a tool to surf, do some email or document creation. In that case a netbook is perfectly suited. Beside why spend > 1,000 when you can spend 300 that provides that level of functionality.
I want to point out that I prefer OSX, and buy Macs (and have built a hackintosh). I'm not some anti-apple troll or anyhting.
I base my purchase decisions on what fits my needs the best. There's a number of blind fanboy posts that knock anything thats non apple.
Other computer makers produce good products and windows itself is a good OS. Just because it doesn't have that apple logo means its crap

This has to be one of the best deals I've seen. If I didn't insist on having 3G I would return my 3G iPad to AT&T and get his one instead and save $130.

Here's a quick question, does the family pack still only come with 1 disk or does it come with 5 separate ones for each license? (I have several macs in the house and it's cheaper to get the family pack, obviously!)

I have a Mac Pro with that build. I've had no serious problems. The only odd thing is that sometimes when I when I go into date/time preferences dialog and try to change something in there the color wheel spins for a couple of minutes and then the controls in there don't work right. All the other system preferences appear to work normally. I've had no other problems. Even iTunes 7 works fine.
Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to an update. OS upgrades are always cool.
Ditto here. I have that build and the only problem I have experienced was yesterday, where I couldn't open Photoshop. It just bounced one time in the Dock and nothing else. I had to restart the machine. But, in the 2-3 weeks I have had my Mac Pro that's the only problem I found.
Anyway, 10.4.8 looks really interesting :)

The last time I had surgery (January 2, 1986) I was knocked out via IV.
As for what it felt like...
They had put the IV in before I had gone into surgery, and it really wasn't that bad. When the doctor and his assistant showed up the anesthesiologist let me know that it was time.
He ask me to start counting backwards from 100. I felt a warm sensation moving up my arm from the IV and then into my chest. A moment later I felt like I was walking out of a fog... but I wasn't, I was lying in recovery... and I got sick.
It took a few minutes to finally become completely cognizant of my surroundings, but all and all it wasn't a bad experience. The time for the surgery was completely gone (as if it hadn't happened). It felt like (going from fully awake before the surgery back to fully awake again after) it had only taken a couple minutes (the surgery was about 4 hours as I recall).
As for what it felt like...
