This reminds me of a history project I had back in high school. We were to tally up all of our household (then parents house) goods made in china. The idea was to give us perspective of were our money was going. Obviously I found a lot of what I was looking for but I was more surprised of how little of our possessions were made in America. Even now, much of my possession are foreign made...mostly japanese and chinese

Is it me or is Apple becoming a silly caricature of its own 1984 ad?

hehe With 11 billion cash in the bank (half of Adobe's market cap), it would be really sweet if Apple acquired Adobe!
Drop all Adobe apps for Windows. Force people to either convert to Mac or find an alternative.
Ah it's just an awful, evil dream.
Please come true :)
...and then M$ would dump Office for the Mac and by-by mac sales (well, new buyers in any case.)

Could be they made many more Verizon models. Could also be that ATT models are being bought for resale overseas. Nothing wrong with that, which is what the OP was implying, I think..
Nah. You put too much thought into his post. He's just saying that the people who bought Verizon iPads are stupid.

Where did they say in the website that you need to buy antivirus software?
And did they compare the build quality or just specs?
It doesn't say it. It does say "sold separately" under the Mac category. If it were truly honest advertising, it should either say "freely available" or even "not necessary".

This would greatly improve the usability of airplay, in my opinion.
Imagine you had your TV on some random channel, while surfing the internet on your iPad. If your TV supported AirPlay, then you could just click the Airplay button on your iPad, and the random channel would be changed to the Airplay content. You wouldn't have to change the tuners over to Apple TV. Much more convenient.
I absolutely agree with this. The funny thing though is ever since we got the new Apple TV, we always keep the input on the Apple TV. And that's all because of Airplay. The ability to stream any TV show, music, or movie on my computer at will is a very powerful and rewarding home entertainment experience. Even Air Video works with Airplay for formats that are not normally supported by the Apple TV.
My most recent favorite 3rd party Airplay app is Vevo. Music videos streamed to your TV over Airplay on demand. Just search for the one you want and even set up playlists. That is very cool.

got about 5 general anesthesias in my life. there is nothing to worry about. you go in, they give you an IV. they turn it up, you wake up in your room. you don't even really remember how you fell asleep. you think 1 min has passed, you're tired and a little dizzy. the fact that you urgently need to pee now tell's you it's been much more than 1 min.
good luck with the surgery.

Devil's Advocate:
I bought a Netbook Holiday Special ($199 normally $399 with ATI chip and graphics and Win 7 Home Premium) from the MS Store last Dec.
MS took off the manufacturer's build (with tons of bloat-ware) and put their own on. It included a lot MS of extras (photo, video editing, music editor - sounding familiar?) and their premium Anti-Virus with lifetime subscription.
When it booted, it only asked for my username and the type of network to connect to (again - familiar? LOL)
I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever...
Just food for thought...

Which cameras in particular. It already supports all the serious Pro cameras if you ignore the very recently announced Canon and Nikon amature DSLRs.
My brother is a photographer, and has a medium format mumiya camera with digital back
It supports his SLRS, but not his mumiya
So, he can't really use aperture.

CDMA as dead tech and slow? Not ignorant remark. However, GSM is also a dead tech.
You made an assumption I was referring to that statement. Either way, neither is dead yet and slow is a relative term that I dont agree with. Slower than AT&T in some areas? Sure. But not everywhere and it isn't slow compared with edge.
Yeah, but you cannot use CDMA abroad, unless your carrier approves your usage of it. As far as GSM goes, you can simply pop in a sim card and it will work (assuming the iPad is unlocked).
Also, the scalpers are sending them all over the world, and not just China. Besides, China (especially Hong Kong) also has GSM (China Mobile, the official iPhone carrier in China).

I wonder if this increase is an accurate reflection of the market. PC sales always tend to drop off hugely in the run up to a new windows release.

What I am saying is - if SJ wants to sell his computer to the sub 20-year-old community, he better get his prices down. Because even though I could work my tail off at work, and earn enough money to buy a mac, a mac still might not be worth it. For example, if apple sold a dual 1.5 GHz 970 in addition to the current line-up for $10,000, it still wouldn't be worth $10,000 for me because that equates to ~1,170 hours of work for me. If I was a extremely well off person, and money wasn't an issue, the computer would be worth the money.
So, basically what I am saying is Apple needs to get down their prices in order to sell their high end systems to people who want them but don't have the highest paycheck.

It's amazing what someone with the proper tool can do to actually test these kind of issues.
I was waiting for someone to FINALLY grab a caliper and measure both devices. Game over.

I hope Apple does the "...go where the puck is going." and provide Lion on a flash drive. I would use it even if I was using a Mac with a DVD drive built-in.

HEHE, I giggled cause I thought u were being sarcastic about The Weather Channel letting you down... I forgot Time Warner's 11% marketshare is still a big chunk, I just didn't make the connection cause to me TWC is The Weather Channel... which would be cool if they streamed live, hehe.
Understandable, but we are in a Time Warner Cable related thread.
Where I live it's either Time Warner Cable or DirecTV.. and DirecTV is satellite. I obviously went with the former, like anyone should if they can.
I would like to see The Weather Channel stream also, that would be great. You're right.
