RE: Patrick


This piece jumped out at me from the others, i think the way the type is presented, it shows off each letter as its own individual piece of artwork. The way they're put to together looks really good because of the space above and below the word. The type itself is really individual, it looks as though around the lettering it could become a maze of some-sort. The way the typographer has used a condensed type makes it look really special. Almost like a first glance it could be a picture rather then a piece of type design. The use of coloring is quiet unique as hiroshima is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture which got whipped out at the end of WW2, maybe the typographer has used red, black and white to represent its Japanese origins or maybe the red represents lives which were lost during the atomic bomb. Its a very interesting piece.
